HTC Desire review, compared with Nexus One.

Today I got a chance to lay my hands on a new HTC desire. Since Nexus One cannot be ordered online anymore and the unlocked version is available only for developers, the best Android phone the consumers can get in India is HTC Desire. This is not to say that Desire is not as good as the Nexus One, you can decide that as you read this. Unpacking Similar to the iPhones and iPhone killers, the HTC Desire too comes with a very compact packing, the phone neatly wrapped in a transparent plastic covering, and the pack includes charger (The smallest Android phone charger I have seen ) 2GB MicroSD and adapter. Nexus One dev phone sold out like hot cakes!

A quote from developer android official blog “A couple of weeks ago, we arranged that registered developers could buy an unlocked Nexus One via their publisher page in Android Market. We think it’s a good development platform and a nice phone. Apparently, you agree. Somewhat too many of you, in fact; we blew through the (substantial) initial inventory in almost no time, and they’re back-ordered from HTC, who are doing a pretty good job of managing runaway success amid a worldwide AMOLED shortage. After over 2 years of launch of the original G-Phone (G1), G2 surfaces!

Remember the bulky sliding QWERTY phone that was the face of Android 2 years back? The bent bottom and the unorthodox looks were much talked about at the time as much as the new ‘Android’ office it had. Now, Engadget is reporting the T-Mobile G2, (isn’t MyTouch the G2??), with leaked photos. Though speculations are in air that this might well be HTC Vision’s US version, we don’t think so. Even GSMArena‘s profile and picture of G2 does not match with those with the Engadget’s picture. Anyways details are still in dark about the phone. Acer coming with Rs.8999 Android phone in India!

The handset (ACER E110) is an entry level, affordable android smartphone which is stylish and slim enough which comes with 3G connectivity and 3.2MP camera. The E110 is sported with 2.8-inch resistive touch screen of QVGA resolution. In addition there is also a circular D-pad.It has a 256MB ROM, 256MB RAM, and a ST Ericsson PNX6715 processor running at 416 MHz. The smartphone is preloaded with older Android 1.5 OS but Acer has modified UI slightly with some small additions, which as they are calling the Acer UI.
